Posted by:

Dubai is indeed a greener pasture for OFWs that’s why many are opting to look for overseas jobs here.  This is true for the lucky Filipino who had just won the Dubai Duty free promo last October 1, 2014.

Dubai Duty Free draws the latest $1 million winner of their Millennium Millionaire promo.  And the recipient of the ticket number 3948 drawn is a Filipino named F. Jackson.

 millionaire

Jackson can’t believe that he had won, saying that he ‘almost had a heart attack upon hearing that I just won one million dollars. Never in my wildest dream did I ever imagine to win such a huge amount of money.’

Three more winners were announced, each winning a luxury vehicle. Joining Jackson in the latest batch of lucky winners were Ranjith C.P and Soman Narayan who both won a Porsche 911 Carera Coupe and McLaren MP4 12C Coupe, and Marques Thierry who won a Ducati Monster 1200 motorbike.

Jackson said that it was the second time he bought a ticket in the million-dollar promo, along with his three colleagues.

How OFWs can cancel Final Exit Visa in Saudi Arabia

Posted by:

If an OFW wants to live in Saudi Arabia and his Kafeel also wants to keep him, cancelling the final exit visa should be processed.

How OFWs can cancel Final Exit Visa in Saudi Arabia

These are the requirements and procedures needed to process the cancelling of a OFWs final exit visa.

  1. Fill out the form that is needed to cancel the final exit visa.  The information provided should be the same information an OFW has in the passport.  A copy of the form can be obtained from the Jawazat office.
  2. After the form was completely filled out, OFWs need to bring the form to their Kafeel who processed their final exit visa.  The Kafeel must sign and stamp the form.
  3. OFWs must request a letter from their employer asking the Jawazat to cancel the final exit visa.  The letter should then be brought to and be authenticated by the Chamber of Commerce in the city where the OFWs employer is registered.
  4. OFWs employer or representative should be present when processing the documents.
  5. If the OFWs iqama is already expired, fee for its renewal should be paid as well.
  6. Attach 2 photos with white background, a copy of the final exit visa, iqama and passport.
  7. Submit these requirements to the Jawazat office and follow the next instructions given by the officer.

OFW Terminated for Testifying Against Employer in Dubai

Posted by:

Because of stating the truth, an OFW was terminated from her work at a beauty salon in Dubai.

The Filipina OFW claimed that she and another employee was terminated when they gave statements to the police about an incident that happened in the salon where she work. It was when a customer ended up losing her hair because of the expired dye used.

According to the testimony of the OFW and her Moroccan co-employee, the hairstylist who attended to the complainant did not use the dye she requested and instead used an expired product. When the hairstylist washed the victims hair, it started falling and the victims even saw her scalp. The victim then went to the police to call their attention.

The OFW said that right after the complainant left the salon, their manager ordered them to dispose all the remaining expired dye. And when she and a co-worker gave statements not in favour of their manager, they were terminated right away. The OFW also added that their boss and her partner asked them to allege that the victim was already lsoing hair before even coming to the salon.
