Advisory from the Philippine Embassy in America

According The Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C. in America, their office will be closed on the following dates in observance of Philippine and US holidays.

 

November 7: Eidul Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice) (Philippines)

 

November 11: Veterans Day (USA)

 

November 24: Thanksgiving Day (USA)

 

November 30: Bonifacio Day (Philippines) – VVP, GMA News

Embassy To Conduct Passport Services in Virginia on Sept.

Filipinos that are working and living in America can renew their Philippine Passports on the consular outreach that will be conducted by the Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C. on September 17, 2011 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA.

The specific location of the outreach is at the Travel Outlet at 5347 Lila Lane, Suite 101 from 9:00 a.m. to noon, and from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on September 17.

Attendees can expect the following services to be rendered:

Processing of application for issuance or renewal of Philippine passport;
Authentication and notary services;
Registration of Births and Marriages, and
Reacquisition of Philippine citizenship under the Dual Citizenship Law.

According to the announcement made by the Embassy, passport applicants need not bring photographs. Here are the required documents:
current passport
photocopy of the passport data page
passport application form
application fee of USD60.00 in cash or money order payable to the Philippine Embassy.

Passport applicants though still need to set an appointment. To set appointments, applicants can contact the travel outlet at tel. nos. 757-424-3311 during regular business hours.

Those availing of Notarial/Legalization of Documents should bring the document and an original valid photo ID with signature, such as a passport or State ID. They should also bring a photocopy each of the document and the ID. The fee is USD25 per document.

Also, the Embassy will process the birth of a Filipino child in the US, to be reported/registered with the Philippine National Statistics Office through the Embassy.

The Embassy will also process “Report of Marriage,” for those who wish to change their names from single to married.

Completed application forms must be submitted to the Embassy not later than 09 September 2011. Fee is USD50.
