Philhealth Postponed Increase in OFW Contributions

Philhealth Corporation announced that they are postponing the increase in premium contribution for their overseas Filipino worker (OFW)-members. According to PhilHealth’s Executive Officer, Eduardo Banzon, the agency decided to defer the planned implementation because of the current global economic crisis that led to the repatriation of many OFWs.

This means that for this year, OFWs only needs to pay Php 1,200 for their Philhealth premiums annual payment. The new premium rate that is Php2,400 will take effect on January 1, 2013.
