More occupations added in Canada worker programs

Posted by:

If you are planning to settle in Canada with your family for good, worker programs that lead to permanent residency have been offered in the recent years by the Canadian government.

At present, Filipinos and other nationalities can work and live permanently in Canada through the following worker schemes:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
  • Federal Skilled Trade Program (FSTP)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

For this year, more eligible occupations were added in the list to qualify for employment and permanent residency programs in Canada.

The three different worker programs accept a certain number of eligible applicants who, apart from being eligible in the occupations under the worker program, are assessed based on their language skills, adaptability, educational background, work experience, age and available arranged employment.

The Qatari Ministry of Labor has announced major and possible changes to the Qatari Labor Law that will mutually benefit expatriates, or those foreign nationals who work in Qatar, and their employers.

The amendments in the Labor Law has been anticipated and asked for a long time now as the kafala or sponsorship system, which is implemented for years, is met by mixed opinions.

The amendments, however, will not yet take effect, and further announcements must be awaited.
