New Zealand Embassy Needs Immigration & Admin Officer

Immigration Officer

Chinese Language proficiency required

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese
    Working as an effective and co-operative member of a team;
    Assessing evidential applications while exercising fair and reasonable judgement;
    Working in a positive way with all people of differing cultural backgrounds, gender and abilities, exemplifying excellent customer service skills;
    Working effectively without direct supervision, and managing and organising fluctuating workloads.
    Working with different software packages e.g. Word, Excel or good keyboard skills.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who are able to provide a proven direct work experience, demonstrate successful customer service and decision making skills, excellent writing and communication, and work well in a team environment. Strong consideration is also placed upon any previous work or life experiences inNew Zealand.

The salary is commensurate with the Manila Salary Scale. The Immigration Officer annual salary scale range is from PHP559,245 (80% competent) to PHP699,056 (100% competent) to PHP838,867. Placement for new recruits is usually between 80-100% of the band depending on experience.

Administrative Support Officer

12 month temporary contract 

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following qualities:

  • Communicate effectively and build relationships with a wide range of audiences
  • Operate IT systems and software including MS Office
  • Performing a range of tasks under competing demands with minimum supervision
  • Handle difficult customer service situations with a positive response
  • Work with individuals to indentify their needs and concerns, and offer appropriate support.
  • An understanding of financial management processes and practice
  • Preference will be given to applicants who are able to provide a proven direct work experience, demonstrate successful customer service and decision making skills, excellent writing and communication, and work well in a team environment.

This is only a temporary contract for 12 months. Subsequent contract renewals will be subject to business needs. The salary is commensurate with the INZ Manila Salary Scale. The Administrative Support Officer annual salary scale range is from PHP457,258 to PHP571,573 (100% competent) to PHP685,888.
Placement for new recruits is usually between 80-100% of the band depending on experience.

PH Embassy in New Zealand: Mobile Consular Services

In line with the goal of the Philippine Embassy in New Zealand to render effective consular services to Filipinos in New Zealand that are staying in areas far from the Embassy’s location, they are conducting mobile consular services and Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) registration for Filipino residents of Dunedin and neighboring areas on 2-5 August 2012 at the Work & Income, Dunedin Central Community Link,  Corner Castle and St Andrew Streets, Dunedin.

The consular services will include passport renewal/issuance, authen tication, notarial, NBI fingerprinting, dual citizenship and Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV).

The  Embassy encourages all  Filipino citizens in the area to register for Overseas

This is the eleventh of the series of mobile consular services afterAuckland, that the Embassy will be conducting for Filipinos inNew Zealandusing the ePassport data capturing machines.  Three (3) mobile passport processing machines will be made available.  Priority will be given to Filipinos staying inDunedinand neighboring areas.

Schedule for the consular services and OAV registration is 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on 2-4 August 2012 while on 5 August 2012 the schedule is only from 9:00 to 12:00 p.m. Appointment for the mobile passport processing in Dunedin can be made through the Philippine Embassy in Wellington at (04) 4729848 and (04)4729921.

Free Calls for OFWs in NewZealand & Middle East Countries

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) wants to help the families and friends of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) that are based in New Zealand and other Middle Eastern countries such as Libya, Yemen and Bahrain communicate with their loved ones. Many are concerned about the situation of OFWs in the Middle East countries due to the ongoing violent protests and the recent earthquake in Christchurch , New Zealand.

That is why the NTC has partnered with Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Pasay City (OWWA) and set up a “Libreng Tawag” booth at the main office of the said government agency in Pasay City.

The free calls will be available for the relatives of affected OFWs from: from March 1-8, 2011 (9:00a.m. to 6:00p.m.).

The free calls initiative is in cooperation with local telcos Globe Telecom, Di— Newsbytes.phgitel Phils. (Sun Cellular), and Smart Communications.
