Who Passed the Special EPS-TOPIK (CBT)?

The POEA just released the list of successful examinees of the Computer-Based Test Special EPS-TOPIK held last May 20.

Procedure for designated recommendation

  • Pass the Special TOPIK (Workers)
  • Medical examination (Workers)
    Job application (Workers – POEA)
    Preparation & Transfer of preliminary job seekers’ roster (POEA-HRD Korea) Approval/managing of the job seekers’ roster (POEA, HRD Korea)

(At this time, former employers receive a text message regarding job seekers of designated recommendation. A work permit will be issued according to the request of and from the employer)

Conditions for the designated recommendation

  • The worker must continuously work in a company(workplace) in Korea for more than one year before departure
  • The worker should apply for the same industry and occupation type as his/her previous work in Korea
  • The employer should apply for the work permit within the recommended period (25 days)
  • And there should be no other disqualifying causes for an employer to hire workers

POEA Announces Sched of 9th EPS-TOPIK

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration announced the initial details of 9th computer-based Employment Permit System-Test of Proficiency in Korean) EPS-TOPIK to be held in August this year. This language-proficiency exam is a requirement for a Filipino worker to be considered for a job position in the manufacturing industry of Korea.

The registration for those who wish to take the EPS-TOPIK will happen on July 2-5 from 9am to 5 pm in the following regions: NCR, La Union, Cebu and Davao. The registration venues as well as a daily schedule based on alphabetical order of family name or last name would be announced soon. Applicant must register only in the registration venue where he/she wants to take the test. Personal appearance is required to register and he test fee is  USD24 or approximately Php1000.

Who Can Register

  • Must be between 18 and 38 years of age (Born between July 2, 1975 and July 1, 1995
  • Female applicants are restricted to register this time due to slow demand.
  • Must not have any record of conviction or imprisonment for a heinous crime
  • Must have no record of deportation or departure orders from the Republic of Korea
  • Must not be restricted from departure from the Philippines

Test Schedule:

Date and Time: August 11, 2013 (Sunday), 10:30~11:40 (Session 1), 15:00~16:10 (Session 2)

Test Venue: Test venues will be announced on July 19, 2013

Required Documents

  • EPS-TOPIK Registration Application form (To be distributed at the registration venue)

Note:  Application numbers are written on each application form. Each applicant receives and submits one application form only, use correction tape in correcting errors.

  • Valid passport or valid SSS UMID (a copy must be attached on application form)

Note: If an applicant’s personal information on the passport is not exactly the same as the one on the application form, their entry to Korea will not be permitted in any case, and the applicant is fully responsible for any problem caused by the differences in their personal information. We will use the personal information (name, date of birth, and gender) written on the application form and the applicant’s photo attached on the application form for their future employment in Korea, and these are not changeable in any case.

  • 2 pcs. passport size (pictures taken within 3 months)

Updates on the Special EPS-TOPIK from POEA

According to the advisory posted in the POEA website, a huge number of voluntary returnees registered so it will take a long time to give the computer-based test (CBT). For this reason, the HRD-Korea and the POEA decided to conduct a one-time, special paper-based test instead on 17 March 2013 at San Beda College in Mendiola, Manila.

The test will be given in two (2) batches: one in the morning and another in the afternoon. Those assigned in the morning (first session) cannot take the test in the afternoon (second session) and vice-versa.

Qualified Workers for Special EPS-TOPIK from POEA

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) released the list of Filipino workers that are qualified to take the Special Korean Language Test (KLT) that is computer-based this 2013. The list is from the HRD-Korea.

If you feel you are qualified because you are an EPS voluntary returnee from January 1, 2010 but your  name  is not inluded in the list of qualified applicants for special EPS TOPIK, the POEA advised you to email the following info:
name, contact number,  alien registration number, scanned passport data page and scanned date of departure from  Korea and arrival in the Philippines to: hrdkphil@yahoo.com for verification by EPS center.
