The time has come for two Pinay nurses to bid goodbye to their colleagues in a hospital in Qassim, Saudi Arabia. But their send-off was filled with compliments and admiration from the hospital staff and fellow nurses whom they’ve known and worked with for years.
After 35 years of dedicated service both for Saudi nationals and foreigners, Pinay nurses Elercy Cruz and Zenaida Lescano will go back to the Philippines to spend time with their families. Cruz is from Pangasinan while Lescano is from Bataan.
The two Filipina nurses were commended by Buraidah Central Hospital director Ahmad Abdullah Al-Omar who also gave them plaques of appreciation for their compassion on their jobs, whether on-duty or off-duty.
BCH assistant nursing director Edna S. Jampil said that Cruz and Lascano were doing community service on weekends, looking for medicines to be given free to fellow Filipinos who need medical help.
The Pinay nurses were also praised on how their caring attitude and selfless services have showed how good and noble their nursing profession is. Fe M. Gatbonton, in-service control practitioner at BCH told the Arab News that the two Pinay nurses were the epitome of the model Filipino nurse.
Fellow nurses not only from BCH, but also from other hospitals, testified on how well the two Pinay nurses were, showing their compassion and keeping calm even under stressful situations.
Cruz and Lescano, will return to the Philippines to spend their retirement with their families.
