Submitting fake documents such as birth certificate, marriage contracts and school credentials is never acceptable anywhere. Though it is clearly a violation, the Philippine Embassy in Saudi Arabia issued a warning to remind Filipinos against the implications of using fake documents. It is an illegal activity according to the Saudi and Philippine laws and those will be caught guilty of this offense will be held liable.
To further discourage OFWs in Saudi from using fake certificates, the Philippine Embassy made it known that they will confiscate all fake documents and will post it on its official site to warn the public and for purposes of transparency. They will also report offenders to proper authorities.
They also warned Filipinos against seeking the services of middlemen or fixers who pretend to be officials of the Embassy and promise to help them acquire documents in exchange for cash.
The names of officials and staff of the Philippine Embassy are listed in its website. Guidelines on how to procure documents from the Embassy and the required fees are also available.
