Acting Secretary Lourdes Trasmonte leads the celebration of Migrant Workers’ Day today at the Philippine Trade Training Center with the theme “OFW, sa Sipag at Galing, Bilib Kami sa Inyo”.
As part of the festivity, the POEA will hold a consultation-workshop on the revision of the POEA rules and regulations for land-based agencies in its main office in MandaluyongCity, For OFWs visiting and transacting with the POEA, they will be given free medical services, free snacks, entertainment, and raffle prizes.
Migrant Workers’ Day is celebrated every 7th of June to commemorate the signing into law of Republic Act 8042 or the Migrant Workers Act of 1995.
