Ban of OFWs in Libya Stays Despite Gaddafi’s Death

According to the POEA, the deployment ban of OFW in Libya stays despite the recent death of ousted Libyan President, Muammar Gaddafi. Filipinos will only be allowed to work in Libya again once a new and safe government is established in Libya. The POEA Chief, Carlos Cao Jr. ensured that the transitional council will conduct a mapping operation to ensure that Libya is a safe work destination.

DFA and POEA must lift the deployment ban to Libya ASAP for these OFW’s have to look for the welfare of their families.
It is really ashame on the part of the Philippine Government related agency OWWA, in particular, assigned to provide an assistance for these displaced workers but, they  ”dont have the cash” and still looking for a partner bank to finance them.

No-fly-zone was already lifted and Libya had new TNC PM already, we have recall letters… why still a ban was not lifted in deploying back all of us working there? WTF you people are doing? you want us to stave to death?

the government should lift the ban for the Filipino workers in Libya before we all suffer for hunger, they should understand that we have our family to feed. If the ban will stay long i believed that Filipino workers cannot go back to Libya anymore.

we have to work for our family…. we have a stomach to feed, we have a kid to send school, we have life to live….. pls lift the ban..

OFWs might return to Libya in an illegal way if the gov’t will still continue to ban the deployment for Libya.  I was also an OFW of  Libya, and I also wanted to work again in the said country for my family. It is very difficult to get a job that could sustain the needs of our children here, so better for us to go back to Libya and work legally like before.
