The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration recently issued an advisory saying that the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) for government-placed and name-hired workers will now be administered by the Overseas Workers and Welfare Administration (0WWA). The PDOS is previously conducted by the POEA.
The said advisory is pursuant to the policy directions of the Department of Labor and Employment and the POEA-OWWA Joint Circular No. 01, Series 2011 amending the POEA-OWWA Joint Circular No.4, Series 2002, the management and conduct of Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) for government-placed and name-hired workers has been transferred to 0WWA.
As such, all PDOS requirements of GPB hired-workers and Name-Hireworkers shall be referred and coordinated with OWWA.
This new rule is for strict compliance.
