Job Opening: Clerk/Chauffeur for US Embassy, Manila

The U.S. Embassy in Manila is seeking an individual for the position of Clerk / Chauffeur in the U.S. Department of Agriculture / Foreign Agricultural Service (USDA/FAS).

OPEN TO: All Interested / All Sources
POSITION: Clerk / Chauffeur
OPENING DATE: January 25, 2011
CLOSING DATE: February 8, 2011
WORK HOURS: Full-time; 40 hours/week
SALARY: P 279,693 / annum (Starting salary)

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Performs agricultural clerical duties supporting USDA’s agricultural and marketing programs, as well as some messenger functions outside the office environment. Photocopies, faxes, files, mails, maintains and updates the Client Relation Management (CRM) contact database and other data entry as assigned.

US Embassy, Manila Needs Protocol Secretary

The U.S. Embassy in Manila is seeking an individual for the position of Protocol Secretary in the Protocol Office (PROT).

POSITION: Protocol Secretary
OPEN TO: All Interested Candidates / All Sources
OPENING DATE: January 26, 2011
CLOSING DATE: February 9, 2011
WORK HOURS: Full-time; 40 hours/week
SALARY: P 382,034/annum (Starting salary)

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Maintains Embassy Contact Database (ECD) which contains more than 12,000 active records. Implements set ECD guidelines by monitoring entries on a daily basis, beta testing program capabilities, complex filtering of data as required by users as well as ensuring post event status. Analyzes procedural computer program needs to derive specific output for increased efficiency. Attends to administrative requirements of the Protocol office including assisting with events preparations and on-site Protocol duty for events, and other clerical assistance in the unit’s day-to-day operations.

E-Passport Now Available For Pinoys in Europe

Filipinos that are working and living in Belgium and Luxembourg can now enjoy the convenience of having the new electronic passport (ePassport). The Ambassador of the Philippines in Brussels, Enrique A. Manalo reported that the launching for the processing of Philippine ePassport was done last Januaery13, 2011.

Ambassador Manalo said in his speech, “I am pleased to announce that Filipinos in Belgium and Luxembourg can now enjoy the benefits that come with using the most modern and secure type of passport currently available.”

POEA &OWWA Opens Nominations for OFW Reps

In accordance to the revised Mirant Workers Act that aims to provide better protection to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) are now accepting nominations for OFW representatives to their respective boards.

The two government agencies announced that they have signed a joint memorandum circular that would seek for nominees for OFW representatives. This move is in compliance with Republic Act (RA) 10022, a manendatory law to RA 8042 or the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995.

Various Jobs For OFWs Available in Saudi Hospital

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) announced that a government hospital in Saudi Arabia has open positions for various Filipino professionals. The King Fahad Medical City located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is in need of architects, medical secretaries, quality assurance engineers, etc. Application will be handled by POEA and interested applicants have until February 4 to submit their resumes and other credentials.
