Effective July 1, 2010, the new list of Australia Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL) will replace the current Skilled Occupation List (SOL) as announced by Minister of Migration and Citizenship Senator, Cris Evans.
The new list mainly caters specialized occupations that require a long lead time of formal education and training, including managerial, professional, associate-professional and trade positions. They will reviews the list of occupations annually but it is expected to become stable eventually.
