Illegal recruiters who victimized Filipinos who wants nothing but to seek for better opportunities out of the country and give their families a good future are heartless. So as responsible members of society, we must all do our share to combat illegal recruitment.
One of the best ways to combat illegal recruitment is to report their activities. So if ever you find yourself or you know someone that has been victim, encourage them to report the matter to proper authorities.
Victims of illegal recruitment may proceed to the POEA Legal Assistance Division located at 4th Floor Blas F. Ople Bldg. (formerly POEA Bldg.) Ortigas Avenue corner EDSA Mandaluyong City. The government of Italy has good news for all foreign workers including Filipinos who are working in the said European country as an illegal worker. A new law that is soon to be implemented now gives them a chance to legalize their status. Read more.

As a remedy for the exodus of healthcare professionals, Akbayan party-list Representatives Risa Hontiveros and Walden Bello proposed a new bill that would train barangay volunteers as nurses and doctors.
House Bill 6536 which was authored by the two lawmakers aims to set up “Bibong BHW Education and Training Program” which would train barangay health workers not just as midwives and physical therapists but also as doctors and nurses. Read more.
