The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) wishes to inform all Filipinos who intends to go to Italy this July that from June 18 to July 15, the Schengen visa agreement is temporarily suspended. The upcoming Group of Eight (G8) meeting in Italy is the reason for the suspension. Italy is the host country of this event that will happen in L’Aquila from July 8 to July 10. Read more.

The Embassy of the Philippines in Riyadh would like to inform all Filipino expatriates within its jurisdiction that the Health Awareness Campaign Project that will feature the Seminar on H1N1 Virus (Swine Flu), HIV and other fatal diseases as one of the worthwhile activities in line with the commemoration of the Philippine Independence Day was rescheduled from 11 June 2009, Thursday at the Chancery to 26 June 2009, Friday at the premises of Al Taj International School, Riyadh, KSA from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The aforementioned move was made in view of the growing clamor from Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who are very much interested to attend said event and are usually free from their respective jobs only on Fridays.
This project of the Embassy and the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) together with other Filipino community organizations in Riyadh will also provide free medical and dental consultations to all attendees. Thus, everyone is encouraged to join in this timely undertaking and avail of the exceptional opportunity of learning preventive measures to fight communicable diseases and having free health check-up at the same time.
