Thousands of Jobs Waiting for Filipino Seafarers in 2009

Amidst report of mass layoff and global financial crisis, seamen can still be confident that there will be jobs available for them. The seafaring industry remains strong as job opportunities for seafarers continue to pour in.

According to the president of United Filipino Seafarers (UFS), Nelson Ramirez, the shipping industry would need around 12,000 seafarers until 2012. Filipino seamen are assured that they will get the job because they are well- known for their excellent work ethics. Read more.

Nurses Gets Training & Employment thru NARS Program

The new government program for nurses called NARS (Nurses Assigned in Rural Service) would equip hired candidates with training in public health functions and important clinical tasks.

Nursing graduates who have passed the local board exam are invited to apply for the NARS program. They may apply online at http//www.nars.dole.gov.ph or visit the nearest DOLE regional office from 23 February 2009 to 31 March 2009. Read more.
