OFWs should leave UAE before visa expiry

Filipino workers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) using tourist visa should leave on or before the expiration of their visa and return to the Philippines to avoid being stranded in exit points. OFWs with expired visas should come home and apply for new visas in the Philippines.

The UAE government issued in July last year a new immigration policy wherein visitors to UAE must renew their visa in their country of origin.

Another Call to Vote for WorkAbroad in the Web Awards

WorkAbroad.ph, a website that provides an easier and faster way to apply for an overseas job is one of the finalists in the Philippine Web Awards. WorkAbroad also have a chance to be the winner for the People’s Choice Award category.

The good news is that smart subscribers can also how their support as Smart Communications is now one of its SMS partners in the search for the best Filipino-made Web sites of 2008. Supporters of the Web sites vying for honors can vote for their favorites either via e-mail or text messaging.

To vote online, register at http://www.philippinewebawards.com/pages/register.asp and click on the vote for a site link at the Members Lounge page.

Meanwhile, SMS voters can type WEBBYS VOTE 100 and send to 2973 for Globe and Touch Mobile subscribers and 2955 for Smart and Talk N Text users.

Online Registration for Nurses and Caregivers in Japan

Filipino nurses and caregivers who wish to practice their profession in Japan now have an easier way to send their application and get hired. They can conveniently apply for a job vacancy by registering at the POEA Manpower registry system online at http://www.eregister.poea.gov.ph.

The last day of accepting applications is on January 30, 2009. Nurse applicants may continue to register for vacancies in other countries like Saudi Arabia. Click here for recruitment schedule.

Pre-selected applicants will be notified through e-mail for submission of required documents. POEA shall only accept documents of applicants with e-mail notification.

Requirements for Nurses:
Registered nurses with at least three years experience.

Requirements for Caregivers:
Graduate of a four-year course
Certified by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
Graduates of a nursing course may also apply as caregiver.
