Recruitment of OFWs for Canada Is Through Agencies

Posted by: carmela

A memorandum of agreement was signed between the Philippines and the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan, Manitoba, British Columbia and Alberta creating lots of job opportunities for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). However the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) issued an advisory to inform hopeful applicants that the recruitment and deployment of OFWs for Canada will be done through licensed recruitment agencies and not through POEA. The POEA also reminds applicants that recruitment agencies are not allowed to collect placement fees from workers bound for Canada.
