Korea EPS: Change of Flight Schedule

POEA announced the following change of flight schedule for applicants of Korea’s Employment Permit System:

From March 4 TO March 11, the PDOS/Pre-flight Briefing has been moved to March 7, Friday (Instead of February 29, 2008) in order to meet the minimum number of workers in the training center as advised by HRD Korea.

2nd OFW Jobs Fair at the Sta. Lucia East

Catch the 2nd OFW Jobs and Livelihood Fair on March 27-29, 2008 10am-7pm at the Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall (Cainta, Rizal). The OFW Jobs Grand Recruitment and Livelihood Fair invites professionals, skilled workers, and individuals interested in working abroad.

Now on its second run, the 3-day exposition of the hottest jobs overseas features learning activities like pre-employment orientation seminars, overseas career talks, country profiling, highlighting on-the-spot interviews and possible same-day contract offers by POEA licensed recruiters for select jobs. Participants will also get the chance to win gift packs and souvenir items to be given away at an hourly raffle within the 3-day expo.

DOLE-POEA Desk for Deployment to Canada

DOLE has set up a Canadian Desk located at the Office of the DOLE Secretary in Intramuros, Manila. Director Salome Mendoza of POEA was designated to head the desk. The Canadian Desk would coordinate with the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and Manitoba in activities relating to the deployment of OFWs. The POEA, as mandated by law, will continue to handle the actual deployment activities.

Staff for Saudi Hospitals Needed

The government placement branch (GPB) through the POEA is in need of professional and skilled Filipino workers. Qualified applicants will be deployed in King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSH & RC) in Jeddah.

Interested applicants should personally submit a detailed resume, Diploma and transcript of records, board license/certificate, PRC card, 2 dated letters of reference from previous/current manager/supervisor. No Objection Certificate for ex-Saudi and 1 pc 2×2 picture for issuance of KFSH & RC Application Form at the Manpower Registry Division, Window M, Ground Floor, Blas Ople Bldg. (formerly POEA Bldg.) Ortigas Ave., corner EDSA, Mandaluyong City between 8 am to 5 pm or the nearest, POEA Regional Extension Unit. Or they may also send in their updated résumés to poea_gpb@yahoo.com.
