i am currently working in saudi arabia.One of the agency in canada sent a contract stating that i am already have an employer and the agency collected 2000 CANADIAN DOLLARS for processing of the LMO.i paid the said amount since november 2009 up to now no LMO sent.I am not the only one who applied and paid that money here in our hospital there are some some of my colleagues too. We wanted to complain but we don’t know where and to whom. Some of our colleague paid 4000 CANADIAN DOLLAR because their LMO came and now they are waiting for the VISA..but since then no one among them who have LMO get a visa. Please help us where to complain.

hello everyone.. i am working here in canada right now and my agency which is MERCAN didnt collect any placement fee from me.. i advice that you go to their office at robinsons building in ortigas.. they are offering jobs for canada and they do not collect or ask anything from you because employers are the ones who shoulder the expenses and placement fee for them… hope this message helped you guys… thanks

@ Charisse: That’s right, Mercan Recruit doesn’t collect fees. My former manager at Jollibee was able to apply there Nov. 2009 and she’s already in Calgary, Canada now. You just have to go the site mercanrecruit. There are job openings listed there..see for yourself..;)

I hope this is true, last 2008 where many ofw went home just to apply for the said opening in the work abroad .com Philippines , Im one of them nothing happen. we waited for 5 months and then I came back again to china because we are waiting less. I hope the poea will work well now.

tama ka dyan! kasi ang asawa ko na katulad mo na ofw sa qatar ay malaki ang problema sa kanyang employer. kaya kami dito sa pilipinas sa halip na kami ay mapanatag dahil may trabaho na siya pero mukhang walang magandang kinabukasan ang naghihintay sa buhay nya at ng katulad namin na umaasa sa kanya. ang ating gobyerno hindi ko alam kung tunay na nagmamalasakit sa mga bayani ng bayan na isinusugal ang buhay nila para lang mabigyan ng magandang kinabukasan ang kanilang pamilya. gobyerno ng pilipinas maaawa naman kayo sa mga ofw na napakalaki ng naitutulong sa ating bansa.

POEA should require agencies to place “NO PLACEMENT FEES” signs and a number where applicants can report unscrupulous activities…
