The increase in demand for Filipino workers in New Zealand is on the rise. From 196 deployed workers in 2005, this figure went up to 420 in 2006, a 114% increase. The in demand jobs in New Zealand are as follows:
Healthcare: registered nurses, physical therapists, pharmacist, medical technologists, radiologist and/or X-ray technician, hospital attendants, dieticians and general cleaners.
- Hospitality industry: room boys, customer service representatives, waiters, waitresses, bell boys, housekeeping attendant, telephone operators and a hotel manager.
- Information Technology: IT specialists, programmers, software engineer, general laborers and technicians.
- Construction: foreman, architects, civil engineers, electrical engineer, carpenters, plumbers and general workers.
